Angela Zdrale, Creative Director of Liv Tall, is a long time client, with whom I’ve helped with many looks for both sample development and production. Her breezy Swim Wrap was a market favorite, and so helping with the Tiered Dress was going to be an important drop for her timeless chic tall girl customer base. Additionally, romantic silhouettes were trending much of 2021 and 2022, as well as soft calming gradients, and so she wanted to capitalize. 

Knowing all this and her typical taste, I was able to help quickly get to a playful but subtle scattered star placement print, reminiscent of her brand’s house codes, and referencing colors that sold well in her inventory the previous year. It was the first time the brand was experimenting with the Kornit DTG printer, so we went through many iterations and some factory visits to get the colors just right. Eventually we landed on exactly what she wanted, with the multiple sized stars and subtle color shift as desired. I was able to push out a small production run in couple weeks’ time.
