ANAMNESIS

Recollection. Consciousness. Remembrance. Flashback. Memorization. Anamnesis is the remembering of things from a supposed previous existence. In an attempt to discover the source of personal escapism, ANAMNESIS attempts to transform the unseen, untouchable most personal treasures we own: memories. Memories are so valuable because they are an intimate collection of moments in contrast to the unclaimed, ever-moving material world.

Memories are created inevitably, but often we engage in more concrete collections of them. The artists behind ANAMNESIS have explored the animation of memories existing outside the mind: memory as product, memory as vision, memory as prosthetic, and memory as fabrication. We invite users to experience the personal visual tools and evoke emotion in themselves.
